Egret takes the edge off with M-1 Master trolley family

Egret has unveiled its new M-1 Master Series family of galley trolleys, introducing a new sleek design with curved edges that improves both the function and image of the carts.

Customers can now apply whatever design they wish to the fascia of the trolleys due to the introduction of a new sublimation coating, which allows branding to be applied to carts so that they fit with an airline’s image.

“We have changed all of the profiles, including the handle that is bigger and smoother for more comfort,” says Maksim Zhuravljov, director of business development for the company.

The lock has been changed to a more rounded design to enable easier opening of the compartments, while still maintaining the same function and strength of previous iterations of the carts.

Zhuravljov says the larger version is 16kg, while the half size is 10.5kg – the most lightweight of all of Egret’s trolley family designs.

The braking mechanism has no moving plastic parts and uses only aluminium and steel, and there are no plastic corners. This means these elements are less likely to break or become distorted.

“I think we have one of the best braking mechanisms on the market,” Zhuravljov says. The casters on the brakes can also be tailored by the customer, he adds, in accordance with their preferences.

In February the company received Federal Aviation Administration certification for its in-service family of trolleys, building on the EASA certification that it had already received, and had covered all operations until now.

“This is just another verification of our products,” Zhuravljov says, adding that FAA approval will to be sought for the new M-1 series of trolleys now that they have been unveiled.
